Artwork in this gallery was on display in solo exhibitions at the Horticultural Society of New York (June 9 – 30, 2010) and the San Francisco Botanical Garden (January 3 – April 30, 2011). A catalogue of the exhibition is available for purchase.
This is a project to document species and hybrid roses through watercolor portraits, plus companion annotated drawings and color samples assembled in informal collages. I work directly with live plants and revisit the roses at different times of the year to capture their development through the seasonal cycle.
